Subaru BRZ Concept STI: LA 2011 Photos
Subaru BRZ STI Teasers Added To Japanese Website
Coming Soon. With those two words, Subaru has officially dropped a confirmation bomb on our expectations for a higher performance version of the much-loved BRZ coupe, known, of course, as the Subaru BRZ STI. Two teaser images are being shown on the Japanese web-side home of STI along with the promise of 'coming soon,' and there's also a rather lovely looking set of twisty roads with the words 'Purity of Handling.'
There's not much we can glean from the two teaser images, but we're expecting an aggressive body package to go along with a significant increase in horsepower from the BRZ STI. We're also not totally clear on what 'coming soon' really means – the auto show season will be kicking off in full swing this fall, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a debut in Los Angeles. That said, you'll know more just as soon as we do.

Ford Mustang 2015 Spy Photo
2015 Ford Mustang spied, plus some hot new intel
SVT car may drop Shelby name...and supercharger.
This is the 2015 Ford Mustang, whose existence Ford publicly refuses to acknowledge. Our spy shooters finally caught a real prototype of the all-new ponycar on the street. (To date, every mule spotted had been a modified version of the existing S197 car.)
While Ford’s staying tight-lipped about the new Mustang, we’ve held our ears to the ground and assembled some juicy intel. Like, real juicy.
First off, yes, it gets an independent rear. Finally. Now everyone needs to find something new to whine about in reviews. Like MyFord Touch.
Underhood, the base car will carry on with V6 power. The step-up engine from there is the 2.3-liter Ecoboost four-cylinder. Expect the four-banger to deal something in the vicinity of 350 horsepower. Seriously. We hope Ford calls it SVO, for old times ' sake.
Continuing up the model hierarchy, the GT retains its 5.0L Coyote V8, only it should make Boss 302-ish power in the 2015 car. Figure around 450 horses.
And then, friends, it gets really interesting. We’ve heard some wild scuttlebutt pertaining to the SVT car. For one, don’t be surprised if it drops the Shelby moniker. Word is, it’ll still have a name you’re familiar with, though. Our money’s on Cobra.
And there’s more: we also hear that the next-gen SVT Mustang will drop the supercharger and go all-motor (like the Camaro Z/28) for its monster power fix. Forums, you may commence your threads.
Plan on seeing the final 2015 Ford Mustang before the end of 2013.

New Ford Falcon GT
Limited edition 'Panther' ready for Sydney motor show.
Ford Performance Vehicles is about to introduce the fastest Falcon GT of all time – although it will fall short of being the much-anticipated successor to the iconic GTHO.
Codenamed “Panther”, the Falcon GT’s supercharged V8 will have the same power as before (335kW and 570Nm) but it will accelerate more quickly because of wider rear tyres and retuned suspension.
Although Ford does not publish acceleration claims, Drive understands internal testing has shown the new model can reach 100km/h in less than five seconds.
The upgraded Falcon GT is due to be unveiled within the next two months in the lead-up to October’s Sydney motor show.

Caterham 620R 2013
2013 Caterham 620R Revealed Ahead of Goodwood Debut
Caterham has revealed its 2013 620R, which will make its official public debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 620R will be replacing the British automaker’s R500 and is powered by a 2.0-liter, Duratec four-cylinder engine sourced from Ford. It’s the same supercharged powerplant that Caterham used in its R400 and R500 models, but has been tuned to 311 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque in this iteration.
“The Seven 620R is an extreme piece of kit,” said Caterham Cars CEO Graham Macdonald. “We know there is demand for cars that rewrite the rules of performance and, if you’re brave enough to take it on, the 620R will be an enormously rewarding, fun car to pilot.”
That means the 620R is the most powerful Caterham road production vehicle yet, and with it weighing in at under a scant 1,200 pounds, it’ll bullet its way to 60 mph in just 2.79 seconds. Aerodynamic enhancements has been implemented on the 620R’s design with its nose cone reshaped to optimize airflow around the car for cooling purposes. The interior also receives carbon fiber panels, a Q/R steering wheel, while it’ll roll on 13-inch wheels.
Pricing is around $75,000 (£49,995) and the 620R will go on sale later this year. Later on, an “S” variant will be added to the lineup that according to the automaker, “harnesses all the power of the original but offers a little more accessibility.”
If the 620R is too rich for your blood, Caterham is working on an entry-level Seven sports car that will be priced for under $25,800 (£17,000).
